Who we are
Armstrong Gardens and Landscapes Ltd (“Armstrong Gardens”, “we”, “us”) provides garden design, landscaping and garden care services across Edinburgh and Scotland. We are the data controller for personal information collected through this website, which covers both Armstrong Gardens and our garden maintenance service, Armstrong Garden Care.
This policy explains what information we collect when you use armstronggardens.co.uk, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
- 02
What we collect
When you submit an enquiry, consultation request or brochure request through the site, we collect the details you provide:
- Your name, email address and phone number
- Your address and postcode
- Details about your enquiry — for example the service you're interested in, your budget range, timeline, or a description of your project
- How you heard about us, if you tell us
We also collect limited technical information automatically when you browse the site, such as pages visited, approximate location, device and browser type. See “Cookies and analytics” below.
We do not collect payment details through this website, and the site has no user accounts or login.
- 03
How we use your information
We use the information you give us to:
- Respond to your enquiry and arrange consultations, quotes and site visits
- Send you things you've asked for — for example our e-brochure
- Manage our relationship with you if you become a client, including project communication and invoicing
- Keep records of enquiries so we can follow up appropriately
- Understand how the website is used so we can improve it
Our lawful bases under UK GDPR are: taking steps to enter into a contract with you (responding to enquiries and quoting), our legitimate interest in running and promoting our business (enquiry follow-ups, site analytics), and your consent where we ask for it.
- 04
Who we share it with
We don't sell your information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the business:
- Our customer relationship system (LeadConnector / HighLevel), where enquiry details are stored so our office team can respond and manage your project
- Google (Tag Manager, Analytics and embedded YouTube videos) — see “Cookies and analytics”
- Our website hosting provider (Vercel), which processes standard server logs to deliver the site
Some of these providers process data outside the UK, including in the United States. Where that happens, transfers rely on recognised safeguards such as the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.
We may also share information where the law requires it.
- 05
Cookies and analytics
We use Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site — which pages are viewed, roughly where visitors come from, and how they found us. This information is aggregated and doesn't identify you personally.
Some pages embed YouTube videos. When you play one, YouTube (Google) may set its own cookies and collect viewing data under its own privacy policy.
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time.
- 06
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry details for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you come back to us. If you become a client, we keep project records for as long as necessary to honour our guarantees and meet legal and accounting obligations. Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics' standard retention settings.
- 07
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete
- Ask us to delete your information
- Object to or ask us to restrict how we use it
- Ask us to transfer your information to another provider
- Withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in the footer below. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
