Goldeneye Drive

This was a creative collaboration with a client who wanted a low maintenance and usable space but was completely open to exploring new ideas and styles. Our client travels regularly with work and often drew inspiration from these trips whilst also having a love of the Scottish landscape.

About The Project

The client’s particular love of the Japanese style using the concepts of mass and void was reflected in the space. We used open areas of porcelain paving and artificial grass balanced with the built form of a bespoke Japanese fired treated pergola, sculptural posts, polished concrete seated boulders set into Japanese zen gravel and structural planting to soften. A contemporary stepping stone path encouraged movement between zones and the naturalistic beds were defined by a clean Corten Steel edge. Water then added to the tranquil feel of the space with a Corten steel water bowl and Veneto water feature. The planting included Japanese Acers but also the planting of a rugged Scottish landscape with heathers, grasses and ferns.
